Welcome to RipCharts, a renowned provider of satellite fishing maps. The RipCharts mobile app is a valuable tool that allows offshore fishermen to analyze recent satellite imagery to identify optimal fishing conditions. Through the app, users can search for, view, and download near real-time satellite maps onto their devices for reference while fishing offshore.

The app provides access to a wide range of imagery datasets, including raw SST orbit scans, composite SST (1day, 3day), multi-res/cloud-free SST, sub-surface SST at depths of 0m, -25m, -50m, and -100m, 5-day SST forecast models, chlorophyll data, chlorophyll/cloud mashups, chlorophyll composites, true color imagery, altimetry data, current data, salinity data, and bathymetry data.

With a user-friendly interface and interactive map features, the RipCharts mobile app allows users to zoom in, pan, view waypoints, and overlay additional data layers on the map to gain insights into the best fishing zones.

Key mapping tools within the app include the ability to measure distances and headings between points, dynamically customize temperature and color ranges on SST maps for identifying subtle breaks (a powerful feature), overlay bathymetry, altimetry, currents, and Loran layers for enhanced analysis. Users can also tap on the map to receive point information such as latitude, longitude, depth, and SST.

The app comes pre-loaded with popular waypoints and fishing hotspots, but users can also manage their own personal waypoints by adding, editing, or deleting them. Additionally, users have the option to save imagery onto their devices for offline or offshore use. GPS functionality allows users to show their position on saved imagery and navigate using GPS satellites. Furthermore, the "Go Here" feature provides navigation guidance with bearing information, estimated time of arrival (ETA), and speed displays.

In the Gulf of Mexico, the app also provides up-to-date information on floater oil rig positions, updated twice daily, further enhancing the fishing experience in that region.
